What makes our products eco-friendly?

Terrazzo

The base material is alpha gypsum: it is a common ingredient for making plaster, and is made by processing (calcining) gypsum stone under high pressure to turn it into a fine powder. This material was perfect for me as the base of my crafts for its strength and low absorptive levels.

The second ingredient is an eco-friendly resin powder, which strengthens the alpha gypsum and makes it even more impermeable. The bio-resin I use is a resin that derives all of its constituent monomers from biological sources. It is then 100% plant-based, usually sugar corn or algae.

The third ingredient is a sustainable hardener (also called earthened plaster) which is a blend of fine aggregate and fiber. Other common additives include prickly pear cactus juice It provides protection to the structural and insulating building components as well as texture and color

The last ingredient is a biodegradable water based polymer emulsion, which is oil free and elemental salt free. This liquid can degrade under mild acidic conditions, making it well-suited for environmentally friendly applications.

Stickers

Our stickers are original creations and take inspiration on all the things we love at Ola Lab. They are printed on recycled paper and are waterproof.

Wall Art

We design our wall art in-house and also made eco-conscious choices by using alternatives to cotton canvas: either Belgian linen (flax) or hemp fabric. The production of traditional cotton canvas puts an unnecessarily large strain on the environment. Cotton requires large amounts of water, pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals and has a low yield per acre.

Woohoo, you'll hear from us soon!
